jornales

for a moment of joy or moments no one pays for, i give myself a ‘jornal’. this makes me rich. try it.

summer returnees

1.

on the marsh

a heron makes a step–

sunset

2.

foam on the waves–

the hem of her skirt heavier

clings

3.

on ferry ride

the flight path of a seagull

ends behind my eye

My ‘jornal’?  Memories in snap shots that keep returning.

  1. I find the second one so full of potential – I rarely suggest changes, but perhaps this should end with ‘heavier’ on the third line – juxtaposing the lightness of the foam with her water-heavy skirt?

    Just a thought.

    • Thanks, Emma! I’ll play around with the last two words.
