jornales

for a moment of joy or moments no one pays for, i give myself a ‘jornal’. this makes me rich. try it.

winter picking

abandoned nests

snag clear lines of bare trees–

the pain of leaving

A picking that has eased the bareness of winter–that’s my jornal from this haiku.

foam on the waves

foam on the waves–

in the wind her skirt clings

heavier

Edited version of haiku no.2 under ‘summer returnees’. Thanks to Emma!

summer returnees

1.

on the marsh

a heron makes a step–

sunset

2.

foam on the waves–

the hem of her skirt heavier

clings

3.

on ferry ride

the flight path of a seagull

ends behind my eye

My ‘jornal’?  Memories in snap shots that keep returning.
